I knew Harvey in play school, even before my sister Sylvie did. He fell in love with her, and she probably saved him from himself. Each to her own tastes, I always say, for I could never have lived with a man like him. Harvey was an oddball even at age 2. He played only with toys of a single colour. The triangle, square and circle all had to be red, or all blue, otherwise, he wouldn’t fit them into his puzzle. All his toy cars had to be black. If they were blue or yellow, his dad had to paint them black, or he wouldn’t touch them. And every night, he parked them beside his bed in tidy rows. If you pushed one out of place inadvertently, he’d get out of bed and settle the lot again.

1. Thanksgiving was approaching quickly. John Jr and Yuēhàn were wanting to understand how the first Thanksgiving become known. John Jr went to the internet and began telling Yuēhàn about the Mayflower and Pilgrims. 2. John Jr explained that the Mayflower was an English sailing ship that transported a group of English families, known today as the Pilgrims, from England to the New World. After 10 weeks at sea, Mayflower, with 102 passengers, reached the United States, dropping anchor near Cape Cod, Massachusetts, on November 21, 1620. The captain of the Mayflower was Christopher Jones. 3. John Jr went on that The pilgrims wanted to separate from the Church of Egland and they believed God wanted them to voyage to America. During the voyage, the pilgrims passed the time by reading by candlelight or playing cards and games. Upon the arrival on land, the pilgrims were surprised to see the ground frozen and that led to their inability to plant and harvest food. 4. John Jr told Yuehan about the native Indians giving a hand to the pilgrims. The Indians taught the pilgrims how to gather food and survival skills. The help from the Indians save 53 pilgrims from ultimately perishing. Most of the pilgrims died from diseases described as a mixture of scurvy, pneumonia, and tuberculosis. 5. The following year, the 53 pilgrims and 90 Wampanoag Indians had a celebration that we now call Thanksgiving. The Mayflower was torn apart after Christopher Jones passed away. 6. John Jr and Yuehan started counting down the days to Thanksgiving. They planned a special tribute and prayer for the Pilgrim and Indians!

Once upon a time, high in the sky, a little Sun named Smisha shone brightly, casting a golden glow on Earth. In a lush meadow, a vibrant sunflower gazed up at Smisha, basking in the warm light. "Oh Sun, your warmth eases my heart. I follow your path, finding bliss in your golden rays," it whispered. One day, a volcano erupted, spewing dark clouds that shrouded the sky and cast deep shadows. Smisha, despairing, found its light blocked. The sunflower, engulfed in shadow, drooped toward the ground. The Sun cried, "Oh, what can I do? My light can't reach the Earth through this gloom." Then, a powerful magic awoke. Nature began to speak. The plants gathered Smisha’s scattered rays, breathing in polluted air and releasing fresh oxygen through photosynthesis. This purified the air and dispelled the dark clouds. Amazed by Earth's support, Smisha realized its true role in this symbiotic relationship. Nature had rallied to aid the Sun. Acknowledging their shared strength, Smisha radiated with renewed brilliance. Grateful, Smisha reached out to the sunflower. "Thank you, dear flower, for clearing the smoke. Your help is invaluable," the Sun expressed. The sunflower, glowing under Smisha’s renewed light, replied, "We simply returned the energy you share each day." From that day, Smisha recognized its might came from both giving light and embracing nature's help. Together with Earth, they wove through the skies as a radiant team. Even the mighty Sun learned the value of relying on others. Its light shone brighter than ever before. Through their bond—the sunflower reflecting Smisha’s beams—they discovered a friendship beautifully bold and brave.

When the other animals invited him to play, he often hid behind trees or under big leaves. He dreamed of making friends, but he was too afraid they wouldn’t like him. Chapter 2: The Secret of Courage One day, Fluffy the Raccoon was walking through the forest when he heard someone crying. He cautiously approached and saw a little rabbit who was stuck in the bushes. “Oh no!” squeaked the rabbit. “I’m stuck! Please help me!” Fluffy was scared at first, but then he remembered that once he had gotten stuck in the branches, and someone had helped him. He gathered his courage and pulled the bushes with his paws. In a minute, the rabbit was free. “Thank you!” exclaimed the rabbit happily. “My name is Speedy Bunny. What’s yours?” “I’m Fluffy the Raccoon,” Fluffy answered quietly. “You’re my hero!” said Speedy. “Let’s be friends!” Fluffy smiled. This was his first friend! Chapter 3: The Forest Ball The next day, a big celebration was planned in the forest—the Forest Ball. All the animals were invited to dance and play. But Fluffy was nervous again. What if no one wanted to dance with him? Speedy noticed that Fluffy hadn’t come to the party, so he ran to find him. “Hey, Fluffy!” Speedy called out. “Why didn’t you come?” “I’m afraid,” Fluffy admitted. “What if no one asks me to dance?” Speedy smiled. “Don’t worry! I’m your friend, and I’ll dance with you!” he said, giving Fluffy a big hug. Chapter 4: A Lesson for Everyone At the Forest Ball, all the animals were happy and playing. When Speedy and Fluffy started dancing, everyone noticed how great they looked together. “Fluffy the Raccoon is so fun and brave!” said the other animals. “We want to be friends with him too!” Fluffy wasn’t afraid anymore. He realized that true friendship is when you’re not afraid to be yourself and when you help others.
